THIS WEEKEND
MONTREAL IS MOTOCROSS

Over 200 entries confirmed for the 34th edition of the Supermotocross Monster Energy

MONTREAL, SEPTEMBER 28, 2011 - This weekend the biggest motocross event in Quebec will take place in Montreal's Olympic Stadium when the inaugural Off Road Show kicks off on Friday September 30 and the lights go on for the Supermotocross Monster Energy on Saturday, October 1. This year alone, over 200 athletes have expressed interest in participating in the competition.

DON'T MISS A THING!
The full list of registered entries in each discipline can be found on the official Supermotocross Monster Energy website at www.supermotocross.ca. Each discipline brings its own unique stars and fan favourites.

MOTOCROSS
Given the magnitude of the event, it's no surprise that the number of registered participants increases every year. In 2010, a then-record 153 riders were entered. This year's MX1 class features 52 participants. Do not miss Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil native Kaven Benoit try to win against a host of strong opponents, including former champions Jason Thomas and Tyler Medaglia, a former MX2 champion who is stepping up to the main class for the first time. Last year, Benoit won the MX2 class, but will be challenged by young western Canadian Kyle Beaton.

ATVS AND SIDE-BY-SIDE RACING
Thirty-eight ATV participants will compete at the Supermotocross Monster Energy, including Quebec native Richard Pelchat taking on Americans Cody Miller and John Natalie, the 2010 event champion.

The inaugural Side-by-Side event will feature many surprises. Twenty-three entries will be in attendance after a summer of preparation with future stars and champions waiting in the wings. Supermotocross Monster Energy regular, fan favourite and former Canadian champion Simon Homans headlines the Side-by-Side entry list.

FREESTYLE
The Freestyle Motocross event, where the winner is chosen by the crowd, is always a fan favourite. This year the competition will be fierce with the presence of France's Thomas Pages, Quebec natives Ben Milot, Morgan Kaliszuk and Brody Wilson and American X Games gold medalist Adam Jones.

THE TRACK TAKES SHAPE
Just this morning, the first shipments of dirt arrived at Montreal's Olympic Stadium! Follow the construction of the track on the Supermotocross Monster Energy Facebook page.

SIDE-BY-SIDE RACING IS COMING TO THE SUPERMOTOCROSS MONSTER ENERGY FOR THE FIRST TIME!

Will MX2 Champion Simon Homans become the first to win in two categories?

MONTREAL, SEPTEMBER 26, 2011 - Next week, the Supermotocross Monster Energy team is excited to host the debut of the sensational Side-by-Side racing discipline at Montreal's Olympic Stadium, adding to an already jam-packed line-up that includes MX1, MX2, ATV's and Freestyle competitions on October 1.

Side-by-Side: The successor to Autocross!
Inspired by and regarded as the successor to autocross, Side-by-Side racing is set to rock the Olympic Stadium stage! Over the summer, CMRC Quebec introduced the discipline to Quebec fans and afforded competitors the chance to hone their skills before their debut at the 2011 Supermotocross Monster Energy. From those tests, 22 entries were selected to compete in the inaugural event on October 1.

Simon Homans returns to Olympic Stadium for Side-by-Side racing!
Of the 22 registered drivers, the standout is former Canadian MX2 champion and Supermotocross Monster Energy MX2 winner Simon Homans. A native of St-Élie d'Orford in the Quebec Eastern Townships, Homans has set motocross aside to make his Side-by-Side debut on October 1 on behalf of BRP.

Homans, who has been a regular visitor to the Supermotocross Monster Energy podium at Supermotocross Monster Energy, expects nothing less than victory in his Side-by-Side debut.

Were he to accomplish that feat, Homans would become the first competitor to win the Supermotocross Monster Energy in multiple disciplines. Come watch the potential for history to be made at Montreal's Olympic Stadium on October 1.
