Dylan Langlois - on the road again

Well I finally had the weekend I had been aiming for last weekend in Nanaimo. I ended up only racing the 450 again, and I was glad I did. Below are my results...read on for the full story.

MX1 (17-17), 17th overall

It was a great week all around, from visiting my cousin in Victoria and swimming in the ocean, catching crabs, rope swinging, visiting some friends in Campbell River, seeing the massive 800 year old trees in Port Alburni, and going for some really nice runs thru trails around the island. The only downside of BC were the tracks! They're all SO HARD and rocky. That said, I did minimal riding last week but it was a nice break.

Nanaimo National - Kyle Keasts blog

I'm already here just outside Edmonton getting ready for this weeks National at Castrol Raceway. The Nanaimo National went alright but I'm disapointed with the second moto result. As you may already know the Wastelands is not a track I like but its the same for everyone. Let me start with the first moto where I got caught up in the first turn with riders going down. After getting through that I came around in 15th position at the end of the first lap and put my head down and started to charge and try to pick as many riders off as quickly as possible. By mid moto I had came through the pack up to around 7th spot i was then able to get past Gibson for 6th and then set about catching Nelson. I finally realed Nelson in and passed him for 5th three laps from the end and thats where I finished which I was pretty happy with after the start I got.

Not since the early televised stunts of Evel Kneivel has the motorbike soaring through the air, captivated spectators in such large numbers. Supercross, Arena Cross and almost all motorcross events have taken Leaps and bounds to the forefront of the motor sport industry. But at the heart of this phenomenon lay the footing of the sport. The Outdoor Dirt track in our very own backyards.

The largest Motocross event on the World Calendar returns to Great Britain in 2008. The 62nd annual Motocross of Nations will take place at Donington Park, September 27-28.

The Canadian Motorcycle Association had made a commitment to re-build with its youngest team in history. This has resulted in the naming of the following riders.

Riding the #28 Yamaha in MX1 will be Aldergrove B.C. native Colton Facciotti. The 20 year old, who rides for the Calgary based Toyota Yamaha Blackfootdirect.com team, was teh top Canadian in last years National Series and is currently second overall in MX1 in 2008.

The MX2 class will feature the #29 Suzuki of Tyler Medaglia. The 21 year old Medaglia, a resident of Ottawa, Ont. is the sensation of this years National Series and is currently leading the MX1 class. Medaglia rides for Vaughn, Ont. based OTSFF Motorsport.

Riding for Canada in MX3 will be the #30 Kawasaki of Dusty Klatt. The 23 year old from Campbell River B. C. was the #1 rider in Canada in 2006 and is just coming off a season of racing in the U.S. Klatt is currently 3rd in the MX1 class. He rides for U.S. based Cernics Kawasaki.

what a week it's been....

We arrived at Raymond, Alberta for the Canadian Western Amateur National last Wednesday and raced Thurs-Saturday. For those of you who aren't familiar with the race, it's like the Walton TransCan for the western riders of Canada (except Walton is quite a bit bigger and better). We basically decided to do the race just as extra practice since we had a 3 week break before Nanaimo.

Trever Hall Injury report

Just thought I would send out an update on how everything is going with me.

As some of you know, on May 11th at the Walton Provincial I went over the bars on the step down and crashed extremely hard. The result of this is 2 completely torn tendons (supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons) in my left shoulder.

I went in for surgery on Friday June 13th to undergo reconstruction of the tendons. The surgery went well with no problems other then the doctor was unable to find all the material of the tendons in-order to stretch them back. Therefore I have to be super careful that I do not aggravate the
shoulder or the tendons could tear again and it won't be possible to repair them again. This whole healing process is going take for 8-12 months for everything to be completely healed. It will probably take a couple more months to get the strength back in my arm and shoulder.
