MX1 (17-17), 17th overall It was a great week all around, from visiting my cousin in Victoria and swimming in the ocean, catching crabs, rope swinging, visiting some friends in Campbell River, seeing the massive 800 year old trees in Port Alburni, and going for some really nice runs thru trails around the island. The Nanaimo National went alright but I'm disapointed with the second moto result. As you may already know the Wastelands is not a track I like but its the same for everyone. Let me start with the first moto where I got caught up in the first turn with riders going down. After getting through that I came around in 15th position at the end of the first lap and put my head down and started to charge and try to pick as many riders off as quickly as possible. By mid moto I had came through the pack up to around 7th spot i was then able to get past Gibson for 6th and then set about catching Nelson. I finally realed Nelson in and passed him for 5th three laps from the end and thats where I finished which I was pretty happy with after the start I got. As some of you know, on May 11th at the Walton Provincial I went over the bars on the step down and crashed extremely hard. The result of this is 2 completely torn tendons (supraspinatus and infraspinatus tendons) in my left shoulder. I went in for surgery on Friday June 13th to undergo reconstruction of the tendons. The surgery went well with no problems other then the doctor was unable to find all the material of the tendons in-order to stretch them back. Therefore I have to be super careful that I do not aggravate the shoulder or the tendons could tear again and it won't be possible to repair them again. This whole healing process is going take for 8-12 months for everything to be completely healed. It will probably take a couple more months to get the strength back in my arm and shoulder.
