International: MOTOCROSS OF NATIONS

Pro Outdoor Motocross The Olympics of Motorcycling, the 62nd annual Motocross of Nations, takes place at Donington Park, Great Britain, September 27-28, 2008.

The Canadian Motorcycle Association has announced a Team made up of the young upcoming stars of Canadian Motocross.

Riding the #28 in the premiere MX1 class will be Aldergrove B.C. native Colton Facciotti. The 20 year old, who rides for the Calgary based Toyota Yamaha Blackfoot Fox Racing Team, is the current MX1 Canadian National Champion.

The MX2 class will feature the #29 of Tyler Medaglia. The 21 year old, a resident of Kemptville, Ontario, was the surprise of the 2008 National Series. He finished 3rd overall in the MX1 Class. He also won the MX2 class at the Montreal Supercross. Medaglia rides a Suzuki for Vaughn Ontario based OTSFF Motorsports.

Competing in the MX3 class for Canada will be the #30 of Dusty Klatt. The 23 year old from Campbell River, B.C. is a 3 time Canadian National Champion and was 2nd to Facciotti in this years series. Klatt rides for California based Cernics Kawasaki.

The first alternate is Kyle Beaton. The 20 year old from Surrey B.C. rides a Yamaha for B.C. based Clearbrook Yamaha. Beaton has competed in Great Britain a number of times in Supercross events and won the London England Supercross in 2008.

Team Manager for the 5th year will be Chatsworth Ontario’s Carl Bastedo. Bastedo commented, “The support from the riders, teams and supporters across Canada this year is unprecedented. That and the great infrastructure support we have in Great Britain from the Par Honda Team, will go a long way to helping us better our best performance to date, an 8th overall at Lierop Holland in 2004.

The Motocross of Nations is covered by more of the World’s Motocross Media than any other event and seen on television in 150 countries with an audience of 100 million. Live timing and scoring Sept. 27 & 28 can be found at www.motocross1.com.
